About Lancar
Plumbing done properly — for the homes of Kuala Lumpur
We started Lancar because homeowners in KL deserved a plumbing service with clear pricing and reliable technicians. That is still what we deliver.

How Lancar came about
Lancar started from a straightforward observation: most residents in Kuala Lumpur found it difficult to get a plumber they could trust. Prices changed after arrival, technicians arrived late or not at all, and the work left behind was often incomplete. The founders — two tradespeople who had spent over a decade working in residential maintenance across KL — decided to do something about it.
The name Lancar comes from the Malay word for "flowing smoothly" — an apt description of what good plumbing should do, and of how we believe a service appointment should go. We set rates in advance, confirm arrival times, and do not leave a job until the water is running the way it should.
Since opening, we have worked across apartments in Chow Kit, terrace houses in Cheras, shophouses in Ampang, and condominiums in Mont Kiara. The range of properties has sharpened our eye for the specific issues that come with different building types and ages — from aging cast-iron pipes to modern concealed installations.
Our team remains small by choice. Each technician we bring in is assessed for both technical competence and conduct. We would rather send one person you can trust than a crew you are unsure about. When a job calls for additional hands, we coordinate carefully so that communication stays clear.
We are based at Jalan Bukit Bintang and serve most of Kuala Lumpur and nearby districts. If you have been let down by a plumber before, we understand the hesitation. We ask only for the opportunity to show that it does not have to be that way.
"Plumbing that flows — from the first call to the final check."
— Lancar founding principle

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Verified Trade Qualifications
Every technician holds verifiable plumbing qualifications. We do not sub-contract to unverified workers or use labour that has not been assessed by our team.
Pre-Visit Checklist
Each technician follows a standard inspection checklist before leaving your property. This ensures nothing is overlooked and the job is signed off properly.
Site Safety Protocol
Shut-off valves are always confirmed before any water line work begins. Surrounding surfaces are covered and electrical panels near wet areas are noted and respected.
Written Diagnosis Reports
Leak diagnosis visits produce a written summary of findings. You keep a copy — useful for landlord communication, insurance purposes, or planning future maintenance.
Privacy and Property Respect
Our technicians are instructed not to handle personal items, open drawers, or move possessions beyond what the job requires. Your home is treated with the same respect as our own.
Post-Job Review Process
We follow up after each appointment to confirm satisfaction. Feedback is recorded and used directly in our internal training and quality review sessions.
Home plumbing in Kuala Lumpur — what we know, and why it matters
Residential plumbing in KL comes with its own character. Buildings range from post-war terrace houses with galvanised steel pipe runs to recently completed high-rise condominiums with concealed PVC systems behind tiled walls. Knowing which materials you are working with, and how they age in Malaysia's climate, shapes how a job should be approached.
Humidity plays a role. Seals that might last a decade in a cooler climate can degrade faster in continuous tropical conditions. Rubber washers in basin taps are a common source of slow drips that go unnoticed until the water stain appears on the cabinet below. Our technicians are trained to look for these signs as part of any inspection visit, not just the reported fault.
Drainage in older KL properties often combines soil pipes and grey water channels in ways that do not always match current building standards. When a blockage occurs, understanding the layout matters before reaching for the auger. Working without that knowledge can dislodge a partial blockage further down the system, where it is harder to reach. This is why we assess first and clear second.
Lancar's approach is built around practical knowledge of the properties in this city. We do not apply one-size-fits-all procedures. The information gathered during each visit improves how we handle the next one — for every client we serve.
